Central Laboratory Facility
The existing Central Laboratory Facility (CLF) at the Bishan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, serves as a backbone for advanced research, diagnostics, and academic support. It houses a range of sophisticated analytical instruments and equipment that cater to the needs of various departments including soil science, plant pathology, horticulture, genetics and plant breeding, agricultural microbiology, and biotechnology. Currently, the facility is equipped with instruments such as UV-Vis spectrophotometers, flame photometers, atomic absorption spectrophotometers (AAS), centrifuges, PCR machines, microscopes, and laminar airflow cabinets. These are routinely used for biochemical analysis, nutrient profiling, soil and water testing, molecular diagnostics, and microbial studies. The CLF is actively used by postgraduate students and research scholars for thesis work and project-based studies. It also supports externally funded research and facilitates diagnostic and analytical services for farmers, extension personnel, and private agencies. Efforts are continuously being made to upgrade the facility by incorporating more advanced technologies and enhancing technical support to ensure effective utilization.
