Health Centre: An Overview

The inception of the health centre of BCKV, Mohanpur was made in 1974. The present medical unit was initially housed on the ground floor of the Administrative Building. It was strongly felt that the medical unit needs some isolation and hygienic environment; separated from the Administrative Building and shifted to newly constructed Health Centre in  2001, which was later  re-entitled as “Professor S.B. Chottopadhyay Memorial Health Centre” in 2012.

This health centre constitutes free medical advices, free checkups, investigations and physiotherapies especially for students of this University along with medicine. Apart  from students, BCKV staffs and their family members are also benefitted by the above medical services at a very nominal charge.

Initially, with the emergence of the health centre in BCKV, Dr J.C. Mukherjee,Dr Ms Manju Chowdhury and Dr N Nath were the in charge and rendered their medical expertise.

In due course of time, Dr A K Roy took over the charge of health centre.

To accommodate various facilities under one roof we have constructed adjacent building consisting of sufficient infrastructure for performing emergency minor surgical intervention maintaining sterility as well as isolated cabins separately for male and female students suffering from infectious and /or quarantined diseases so that academic activities can not hamper.

Following facilities are provided at the Health Centre.

  1. Doctor consultation are provided at the Health Centre during office hrs and also beyond office hours in medical exigencies.
