Training Hall cum Hostel

The Regional Research Station Jhargram, West Bengal, has been retaining its glory since its inception and has gradually evolved into a centre of excellence in agricultural education, research, and extension services for farmers and stakeholders across eastern India. Jhargram experiences a tropical wet-and-dry climate, with scorching summers (March–June) where temperatures often rise between 40°C and 46°C, followed by humid monsoon rains (June–September) averaging around 1400 mm annually. Winters (November–February) are mild and dry, making October to March the most suitable and comfortable period to visit.

The campus is known for its serene ambience and scenic beauty, attracting visitors from across the country. Situated in the heart of Jhargram town, the property offers a peaceful environment along with good connectivity through rail and road networks. The Training Hall and Farmer’s Guest House are conveniently located, approximately 10 minutes from Jhargram railway station.

The Training Hall is a versatile facility that can be used for seminars, symposiums, meetings, workshops, training programmes, and even social events. Complementing this, the Farmer’s Guest House provides comfortable accommodation for visiting farmers, experts, and trainees, ensuring accessibility for participants from remote and rural areas.

Together, the Farmer’s Guest House and Training Hall play a vital role in strengthening agricultural development in the region. Located in a tribal-dominated district, these facilities create opportunities for farmers to stay, learn, and exchange knowledge. The Training Hall serves as a hub for skill development, where modern agricultural techniques, sustainable farming practices, and government schemes are introduced and discussed. These initiatives significantly contribute to improving productivity, increasing farmers’ income, and enhancing awareness. Overall, the facilities promote rural empowerment, facilitate knowledge transfer, and support the advancement of scientific agriculture in Jhargram, thereby contributing to sustainable livelihoods and regional development.
