Groundnut

  • Short duration groundnut variety TG-51 identified for potato-groundnut cropping system.
  • In sandy loam soil, application of gypsum @400 kg/ha during flowering time increased the pod yield of groundnut.
  • IPM module encompassing trap crop (Sunflower 200/ha), spraying of Neem oil 2% and Quinalophos 25EC@2ml/lit is the best option to control the major pests in groundnut.
  • Groundnut+Pigeon pea intercropping (4:2) with 100% recommended dose of fertilizer in groundnut and 50% in Pigeon pea for higher yields and economic returns.
  • Polythene mulch on groundnut either on paired row bed system or on flat bed system and irrigation scheduling at IW: CPE ratio of 1.0 recommended for higher pod yield.
